Fatal Accident on Set of ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’

A crew member on the New Orleans set of G.I. Joe: Retaliation died Tuesday after an accident involving a lift, according to reports.

Mike Huber was trying to tear down a set when the high-powered lift he was operating tipped over, eyewitnesses say.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Huber family at this time. The safety of our cast and crew is our top priority and the studio is fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident,” Virginia Lam, spokesperson for Paramount Pictures said this afternoon.

The movie, which stars Channing Tatum, DeRay Davis, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is a sequel to the Summer 2009 action hit G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It opens in theaters in June.
